My Fratton Park frustration

Last weekend’s 2-0 win at Birmingham was bittersweet for me, I love nothing more than seeing Portsmouth win but I can’t help feeling frustrated at my own lack of playing opportunities.

Don’t get me wrong, I was celebrating with the best of them as Sulley and Nico smashed in crackers at St Andrews (note the sarcasm with Sulley’s strike!) but I’m like every player in wanting to play.

This season is proving to be a difficult one and it’s getting to a point where I’ve got to play football. If not, I’ve got to do something about it.

My aim is to keep trying my best to get into the team, but if I don’t get a chance during December I’ve got to start evaluating things.

I think I’m not the first to say football’s a funny old game and things change quickly, but it’s everso difficult to have a big impact with only five or ten minutes here or there.

Hopefully I’ll get a chance to show what I can do because I know I can make an impact on The Premier League, but obviously it’s difficult to moan at the moment because the team’s playing well.

Instead my wife gets the brunt of it, I’m a fidget at the best of times but now I arrive home with bundles of energy and she’s getting annoyed!

HARRY ORDEAL WON’T AFFECT US

Harry’s brush with the law hasn’t disrupted the squad whatsoever – let me make that abundantly clear. Everything has gone ahead as normal.

He had a chat with everybody at the club, not just the players but everybody – groundstaff, secretary, everybody. He told us exactly what he told the press.

It won’t have the slightest effect on how we do against Everton, I can assure the fans of that because as players it is not for us to worry about.

EVERTON’S A BIG BIG GAME

Everyone’s fit for the weekend, which is good news because Everton are playing well and this will definitely be one of the better games of the weekend. Hopefully we’ll even get more than five minutes on Match of the Day for once!

Mikel Arteta is obviously their talisman but we have no special plans for him, we just can’t get caught ball-watching because he’s a clever player.

Everton will be high on confidence following their 7-1 bashing of Sunderland but we feel we can win and they’ll arrive at Fratton Park expecting a tough afternoon.

It’s sure to be a spectacle for The Premier League and hopefully we can get the points.

Aston Villa got a good result against Blackburn in midweek which took them above us and they’re our opponents next week so it’s a big two weeks for Pompey.

We need to get a good start in both games, win both games and then it’ll put everything to do with Harry to the backs of people’s minds.
