Kanoute to block Cesc
by Laurent Picard, 17 September 2007
Sevilla striker Frederic Kanoute understands Arsenal are more experienced in the Champions League but claims his team can stop The Gunners’ key players.
Sevilla will play in Europe’s premier club competition for the first time and their debut will come in North London on Wednesday when they face Arsenal.
Former Tottenham and West Ham striker Kanoute seems optimistic his team will shackle Cesc Fabregas and play their best football at The Emirates Stadium.
“They play a very quick attacking football and they are a very offensive team, nevertheless they can have defensive failures,” Kanoute declared.
“We have to block Cesc [Fabregas]. I don’t know how the coach wants us to play but I know their team a little and if we manage to block their key players and to win the ball quickly like we are used to doing, then we can do something good.
“We have a great team with a lot of players at every position, maybe two or three at each one. We can do well and progress.”
