Bojinov edges closer to return

Valeri Bojinov is tentatively creeping his way back to fitness but is still not keen on setting a deadline for his return to Manchester City’s first-team fold.
Hefty expectations greeted Bojinov’s arrival at Eastlands, but a knee injury in August’s Manchester derby severed his season after just three appearances.
Lengthy rehabilitation has followed and the Bulgarian has since turned out for City’s reserves but, despite resuming full training, he does not know when he will be deemed ready to feature for Sven Goran Eriksson again.
“My recovery goes quite good, I feel great,” he told the Bulgarian media. “I don’t know what squad I will play against – Chelsea [April 5] or Middlesbrough [last game of the season.]
“We are waiting for hard games against Chelsea and Liverpool. It will be hard for us to enter the top six.
“I won’t be in perfect shape by the end of the season, I just want to play. I’m hungry for football. The important thing for me is that I am close to it now.”
Bojinov also revealed that during his extended absence he has looked to hone his own game by learning from some of the best.
“The last couple of months were very hard to me,” he added. “All the time I was watching matches, especially the game of Drogba, Torres and Adebayor.”
