KK bemused at Owen omission

Kevin Keegan says he cannot understand why Michael Owen is not starting for England, and the Newcastle boss has again highlighted the importance of the striker to his side.
The Magpies manager believes the former Liverpool and Real Madrid forward is playing to such a high standard that his relegation to bench duty for the national side is a bemusing scenario.
“As far as we’re concerned at the moment, me and my staff feel that he’s playing so well that we can’t understand why he can’t get in the England side,” said Keegan.
“We’ll have to wait and see what happens. He’s got a record that is tremendous.”
Keegan added: “His leadership for us is important and he plays a key role for us. His style of leadership is not one of shouting from the rooftops and banging a drum, he just quietly goes round and talks to players and then gets on the field and shows them by his example.
“I don’t think any manager can ask for more than that.”
