Bruce dismisses insulting insinuations
by Joseph Caron Dawe, 09 May 2008
Steve Bruce has told Setanta Sports News that he ‘dismisses’ any suggestions his Wigan side will not be giving 100 percent in their last game of the season against Manchester United.
The Latics face The Red Devils on Sunday and with Bruce coming up against his former club and manager he could prove to be the undoing of both.
However, some have alluded that the former United captain may instruct his side to ease up against United, who are chasing the Premier League title.
That is a supposition that understandably angers Bruce and one which he says is an ‘insult’ to his team’s integrity.
“We will do as best we can, that’s for sure. Nobody’s going to question us, the whole spotlight’s on us to go and make sure we perform and play like we have done over the last few weeks,” Bruce told Setanta Sports News.

“We’re insulted a little bit that we’re just going to roll over. I don’t think Sir Alex or his team would expect that anyway, so I just dismiss that question.”
