Middlesbrough v Man City preview
by Chris Stanton, 09 May 2008
Sven Goran Eriksson could bow out as Manchester City manager by delivering a win at Middlesbrough that will surpass the club's record for Premier League points.
Another maximum will see City end the season with 58 points, beating the total of 57 they recorded in 1992-93 which was also set when The Premier League was a 42-game campaign.

City fans are incensed by owner Thaksin Shinawatra’s unjust jettison of Eriksson and are expected to demonstrate at Eastlands the day before their final fixture on Sunday.
Eriksson’s side can still finish as high as seventh, while the aim for Gareth Southgate’s 14th-placed team will be the increased prize money that comes with overhauling the side one place above them in the table, Wigan.
Recent meetings would suggest Eriksson will get the send off he deserves.
City have won the last three matches in a row against Middlesbrough and Boro have failed to score in their last two home games against Sunday's opponents.
Prediction: 1-2
