Wigan have secured their safety and take an improved record against the 'big four' into the match, having drawn their last three after failing to pick up any points from their first 20 league clashes with United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Wayne Rooney looks set to start on the bench due to his ongoing hip problem and Nemanja Vidic is also doubtful after the head injury he sustained at Chelsea.
Carlos Tevez is likely to play up front, probably with Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored six goals in his last four appearances against Sunday's opponents.
Ryan Giggs will be hoping for a recall and Anderson is an option in midfield after failing to get off the bench in the last two matches. Nani is suspended after his red card against West Ham.
The Red Devils have won seven away games on the last day of the Premier League season when no other team has won more than two and three more points at The JJB Stadium will prompt celebratory scenes in Lancashire.
Steve Bruce's side, despite his United connections, will be no pushovers as their 2-0 win at Aston Villa proved last week. Wigan would be ninth if the season had started when the ex-Red Devils defender took over the reins.
Luis Antonio Valencia and Wilson Palacios will look to enhance their reputations against one of their alleged suitors, but Kevin Kilbane has joined Erik Edman and Mario Melchiot on the sidelines.
Prediction: 1-3.
