Smith: Gers are in good shape

Rangers manager Walter Smith has insisted his players are in good shape ahead of Saturday's live Setanta Sports clash with Dundee United despite a crammed fixture schedule.

The Gers left it late before Barry Ferguson ended Motherwell's stout resistance in midweek and they are now four points behind leaders Celtic in the SPL table with two games in hand.
As the Ibrox outfit pursue glory on four fronts, fatigue could play a factor in the run-in but Smith has no worries about his players.
"Some of the players have had a little bit of strain placed on them with the number of matches they've had to play," he admitted.
"That's just the way it is.
"The boys want to play I think it's shown in them that they're physically handling it and, mentally, they're beginning to get there as well.
"They can see the beginning of the end, if you like, of the number of games and they're looking forward to every one of them.
"I think we're in good shape in that sense even though tomorrow's game is our fourth in nine days.
"We're in good shape physically and mentally and we're looking forward to the remaining fixtures as well."
Rangers v Dundee United is live on Setanta Sports and Setanta by Broadband on Saturday.
