Terry to be fit for final

John Terry has allayed fears that he will miss the Champions League final after revealing that he suffered only a dislocated elbow on the final day of the season on Sunday.

Chelsea’s captain was stretchered off after just nine minutes of Chelsea’s draw with Bolton amid serious concerns following a collision with goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Terry was in visible pain as he left the pitch, with initial suggestions that the England international had broken his arm.

Terry was sent to hospital but returned to Stamford Bridge in time for the final whistle on Sunday and issued an upbeat prognosis of his chances of featuring against United in Moscow on May 21.

He said: "It should be fine after three or four days rest so I should be ok for the final.”

Chelsea’s result against Bolton was academic because Manchester United secured the Premier League title with the victory they needed at Wigan and all Chelsea’s attentions have now turned to the Champions League.

"The Champions League is the one missing from my collection so of course I'm going to say it's the one I want now.

"But I'm extremely disappointed that we've not won the league, but fair play to Manchester United, they've been very good this season.”

“It's clear Ronaldo is still unhappy. This is postponing the inevitable. Ronaldo will be a Real Madrid player in 2009. Fair play to Fergie because he is stubborn but there's only one winner in the end here.”
