Blues keeper 'slapped in the face'

Birmingham keeper Richard Kingson has bitten back at David Sullivan after claiming the Blues co-owner has treated him like an animal.
Kingson has had only a peripheral role at St Andrews since signing last summer despite impressing for Ghana at the African Cup of Nations.
The fallout from Blues’ relegation continues to esculate, with both Sullivan and his fellow owner David Gold unhappy at the way they have been targeted by the club’s fans.
Sullivan has pinned much of the blame for the club’s failure to stay in the top flight on signings, such as Kingson, made by Steve Bruce last summer that he has described as ‘a load of rubbish’.
“I’m sad over the wholly unjustified and unfair comments,” Kingson told The Sun.
“Even an animal does not deserve to be described as a ‘waste of space’. How can he say that when I’ve not even met him.
“What makes this even more painful is I nearly lost my life in September when I was knocked unconscious against Blackburn — trying to protect the honour of this club.
“To get this insult is a slap in the face.”
