Contract offer for injured Markus

Inverness manager Craig Brewster revealed midfielder Markus Paatalainen is facing a six month layoff with knee ligament damage, but the club have offered him a new contract .

The 25-year-old was facing the bleak prospect of months without a club following the imminent expiry of his current deal, but Caley have offered the player a six-month extension.

“Unfortunately his scan shows a cruciate injury, but he’s a great professional,” Brewster said.

“He’ll be out for a minimum of six months, but it’s a difficult injury which a lot of players have had, and they seem to be more common now.

“However if any player will come back he’s certainly got the determination to do that.”

“It's clear Ronaldo is still unhappy. This is postponing the inevitable. Ronaldo will be a Real Madrid player in 2009. Fair play to Fergie because he is stubborn but there's only one winner in the end here.”
