Fallon could take action against BHA

Kieren Fallon could take action against the British Horseracing Authority arising from the collapsed trial that took place last year against alleged race-fixing.
According to newspaper reports, the Clareman and his legal colleagues are understood to be unhappy with how the BHA behaved furing the probe into corruption in the sport.
The British governing body since commissioned an independent review, which resulted in the recommendation that it pursues investigations relating to and prosecute breaches of the Rules of Racing and that the police should only be consulted in “the most exceptional cases”.
The review found that the decision to involve the City of London Police in 2004 was “right in the circumstances” at the time, yet recommended that the BHA “cannot allow its obligation to maintain the integrity of the sport to be compromised by the timetabling demands of a criminal prosecution”.
Fallon's legal team have reportedly been corresponding with the BHA and it is possible that there could be a legal challenge.
Fallon was banned from racing for 15 months after being charged with conspiring to defraud customers of the betting exchange Betfair. He is presently serving a drugs-related 18-month suspension.
The City of London Police are conducting their own review into the collapsed trial.
